Alicia Merten and Mary Morgan are experienced passionate educators and staff developers. We have spent our combined careers of over 30 years developing our expertise in teaching and learning and refining our understanding of how to best share it with others.

Alicia Merten

​Alicia has been an educator since 2001. She possesses a wealth of experience and expertise in literacy education. Alicia's qualifications and roles demonstrate a deep commitment to improving literacy instruction at various levels. Alicia's credentials include: 

•  Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and   Spelling (LETRS) certified
• Literacy interventionist and instructional coach for several high-poverty schools in a large urban school district
• ​​Instructor and school-based coach at the graduate level in a major joint literacy initiative between an urban school district and the school of education of a university.
• Consultant to a state-wide literacy initiative in Georgia​​ 
• Conference presenter at the national and state levels

Mary Morgan

Mary has been an educator since 1990. She has worked with adults and students from pre-primary to graduate school in the public and private sectors. Mary's credentials include:

• Six years co-owning a women-owned business and successfully providing personalized literacy assessment and instruction to students ages 5-13.
• Intervention, English Language Development, and elementary teacher​
• Instructional coach and professional learning developer and presenter in a large urban school district for over a decade
• Instructor and course developer at the graduate level in a major joint literacy initiative between an urban school district and the school of education of a university
• University adjunct
• Conference presenter at the national and state levels
